About SAVING DANGER:

To maintain her cover and keep her family off her back, they fake a relationship.

Having spent her whole life trying to prove she’s just as capable as her three older brothers, art retrieval expert Ivy Danger has landed the biggest gig of her career, one that will pay off the mortgage of the animal shelter she owns. That is, if she doesn’t die before finishing the job. Even if she locates the stolen art, the violent gang of thieves won’t give up their million-dollar payday without a fight. She has one person she can turn to for help—Nash Harris. Security expert, her brother’s best friend…and the gorgeous man of her fantasies who treats her like a kid sister. Not that she’d do anything about her attraction anyway—not when it would screw up her family dynamic if things went sideways between them.

Now it’s impossible to tell what’s real and what’s not.

Despite having known Ivy forever, “brotherly” is the last thing Nash feels for the sexy troublemaker. She’s it for him. The One. He’s known it for a while…but convincing Ivy is another matter. When they have to fake a relationship for her current job, things shift between them. They’ve worked together before, but she’s in over her head with this latest job. But before anything can come of it, he’ll have to keep her alive when she’s targeted by a dangerous group known for violent retaliation. Nash will do whatever it takes to keep her safe, to prove she can trust him—on the job, with her life, and with her heart.

Excerpt

Using the back stairs, she headed toward one of the rear doors and made her way out into the sunlight. She had a couple more stops to make but… She pulled her phone out as she headed toward the nearby sidewalk.

There was one person she wanted to call even though she knew she shouldn’t.

Nash Harris.

One of her brother’s best friends, the man who starred in all of her fantasies, and hell, was one of her best friends, if she was being honest. She might not be telling her family that she was in town, but she would tell him. It would feel wrong not to. And if she was being honest, she wanted to see him. Craved it, even.

Not that she didn’t have the sharp planes of his face memorized or dream about how kissable his lips looked—or fantasize about running her fingers through his dark brown hair. The man always kept it so short and it looked so damn soft. Aaaand she was getting off track.

Maybe she’d just have one dinner with him. Get a glimpse of his fine ass and get her fix until the next time they got to meet up. It wasn’t enough but it would have to do for now.

Title: My Only Defense

Author: Leigh Lennon

Genre: MM Romance

About My Only Defense:

Garrison

Love sucks! There I said it. I've never looked for it, nor do I want it. All it seems to do is cause open wounds. I already suffer from the guilt of a horrific accident. I won't let love suck me down the rabbit hole. But Murphy's Law is a diva out to destroy my life. Someone sees me for more than just a one and done and though I've pushed men away for years, he's refreshing. But remember that diva I told you about, she's sort of a b**** too. Yeah, love more than sucks but since I can't use the words I want, I'll just stick to that because the man I want has a connection with me, no one knows about.

Lawson

I met a man. Sure he's a little detached and cynical. Though, try telling my heart he's all wrong for me. I've been over it with this particular traitorous part of my body. And, I do the one thing I never do with my hook-ups. I give him a way to reach me. But it's more—I almost beg him to call me after my next deployment. Oh, yeah, forgot to mention, I'm in the military and am shipping out. I want him to be my welcoming party, when I come home, yet, when I unravel every complicated part of Garrison Fisher, I find more and more I should run from. But I can't. He's broken, but after my time in the military, I'm broken too. Can we fix one another and heal the wounds that may very well tear us apart?

I haven't had enough beer or scotch or bourbon or rum to endure the I'm concerned for you speech I get from this crew of people. It should make me feel secure in the friendships of so many who care for me. But it doesn't.

Making my way through small groups of people mingling together, I see many teammates huddled up, partaking in different conversations. I hear Ryder's voice carry through the crowd. I'm on my way to him in an attempt to bow out for the night. I'm tired, grumpy, and want to go over some more statistics before I fall asleep with my laptop open.

I have the Uber app pulled up on my phone and blindly walk over to find Ryder.

I'm overcome with this searing feeling I'm being watched. Darting my gaze over to the set of eyes that I can feel are on me, like the sun on a clear day, I'm met with the one person who I've been trying to forget for way too long. Charging toward me is the handsome and familiar face of Lawson Solaritez, and he's anything but happy to see me. Oh, fuck!

I'm paralyzed, unable to move, his eyes piercing me, and the entire group he's a part of stops, staring at our interaction. With Crush near his husband, I hear him ask, "Did you know, Ryder?"

But nothing fazes the angry Navy SEAL. His entire gaze is ready to set me on fire. With the heat in his eyes, the kind I'm not accustomed to, I turn on my heels, taking my leave. I won't come clean with him, not in this house, not ever. He's been hurt enough, and by the flames ready to destroy me, he's already one step in the right direction. But the memory of his family being lowered into the ground will only hurt him further.

I'm around the corner of this mansion type of home when the strong arms of Law pull me back to him. Six months we fucked, and I'd know his touch anywhere.

We're just far enough away from everyone, and we have privacy when he backs my body against the farthest wall, his one arm pushing my shoulder against it and the other over my hand.

"What the fuck?" These are his words.

"No hello?" Yeah, I'm an asshole—it's the only way I know when I'm met head-on with a crisis. "It's the normal way to greet people."

"Hello, asshole." His eyes widen, and his words are just as cold. "Now, with our pleasantries out of the way, want to explain ghosting me?"

I choke on the air, attempting to explain the ridiculousness of his little tantrum. I clear my throat, and I seem to breathe normally again. "Are you serious right now, Law? I believe your words were something along these lines—‘I know this isn't what we do, but the ball is in your court.' This is my paraphrase, but I think I'm pretty fucking close. So, don't act as if you have a reason to be upset."

He lets go of my shoulder, but his body is still pressed against mine. I've dreamed of him every day since saying goodbye to him six months ago. And there's nothing I'd rather do than allow him to ravage every part of me.

"Give me something, Gary. We had a connection and, by your reaction, I know you wanted more from me. I didn't give you a chance to answer, but I expected something. Yeah, my words were just words because I felt it, here." He places his hand on my heart. "Here, Gary—right here. I didn't imagine anything, and I'm left to wonder why the hell you've changed. I have the right to know. Fuck, you know my name. I know nothing about you. Just tell me your name. I know it's not Gary. Give me something so that when I dream of you, I'll know it was real, if only for a second."

"It doesn't matter what we felt here." I give myself permission this one time to touch him, and I place my hand over his. "I don't have any right to care—catching feelings for you."

"Gary." His lips skirt around my left cheek, stopping at my neck, just enough that he nips my skin on his way to my right cheek. "I don't do this. I don't care for the men I fuck, but for six months, what got me through my deployment was the fact that I felt you'd be here, waiting for me. Tell me you don't want my lips on yours. Or going a step further, my lips wrapped around your cock."

I take in a deep, strangled breath, and I'm on the edge of another coughing fit. Law's lips take the same path, back to my left cheek. "I know there's something here, baby. Please, give me something. Anything," Law pleads.

I move my hand to his cheek, so close to me, the pine of his aftershave bringing back every memory of us at the seedy hotel room. But I didn't care about the room, just his cock deep inside of me.

"Law, I've hurt you enough in your life. Once you know who I am, there's no way you could feel anything for me."

He backs away, just enough that his two hands cup my face, and I miss his body heat against me.

"Baby, unless you're a serial killer, I don't give a fuck about your past."

"You don't even know my name. You'll feel different. I swear, it's best to remember the great times we had and to part ways right now, without any questions asked, like we agreed to when we started fucking."

The amber rings around his hazel eyes plead with me, and I can't say no. But after I reveal my identity, all that will be between us—are the memories we once shared.

"Gary, tell me, baby. I want to know."

It's my turn to cup his cheeks. "Law, my name isn't Gary. I'm a sports broadcaster. I've known Ryder for many years. He's one of my best friends; the sneaky bastard set this all up. But I covered a story almost three years ago. It affected you—more than I thought it would. I was just doing my job. But, then again, you probably know me better as Garrison Fisher. The man who destroyed your brother and got your pregnant sister-in-law killed."

I don't wait for him to process this, and fuck, he'll undoubtedly need time to digest everything I've shared. But I can't watch his face as it morphs into understanding. I just won't.

Runaway Royal with Wendi Zwaduk

Get a taste of what a runaway royal does to try to find love in this excerpt from Runaway Royal by Wendi Zwaduk. Let her know what you think in the comments. And then follow the tour for even more! Best of luck entering the giveaway!

Will this runaway royal ever find her place…and true love?

All Princess Catherine Zara of Lysianna wants to do is attend college like everyone else her age. So she’s a royal and requires a security guard to move about in public, but if she goes to university, she doesn’t have to marry the man chosen for her. He’s not her true love, so why torture herself? All she has to do to get her life started is to run away to the US…

And then she meets Luke.

Luke Cobb wants to survive college with a degree in studio art and guarantees that he can show his paintings in the local galleries. All he needs is the right break to get his work mainstream and the right woman to stoke his dormant muse. When he meets Zara, he’s smitten and his creativity sparks.

Except, she’s a princess and he’s a commoner, which could be a big problem…

She opened her sketch pad and created a list.

While I’m at university, I want to:

*be kissed properly

*buy a cheeseburger

*see a rock band play a concert

*have sex & lose my virginity

*have sex with a handsome man

She tapped her pencil against her lips as she debated the next item for her list.

*to meet the tall, dark and handsome artist downstairs

*to model for someone (nude?)

*to attend a real party

*to fall in love

She snorted. Love wouldn’t happen. Not for her. Before things got that far, she’d be found out. The law of averages wasn’t in her favor. If her stepmother didn’t tell someone she’d arrived at the college, Corinne would let the secret slip.

Still, she could dream.

Besides, the list was only one of dreams. It wasn’t like she’d created a checklist to live by. She’d come to the college to get an education, not fall in love. Even if she wanted to be with someone and experience those aspects of life, she had to finish her degree first. She’d paid the money to attend and refused to waste the chance—even for love.

Excerpt from the brand-new Lovers at Dawn:

“Hungry?” she asked.

“I could eat,” he said.

“How about something more than trail mix and grapes?”

He chuckled. “Yes, please."

She grinned. “There’s a really good noodle place near here. Or we could do pizza like we talked about.”

Now Caden was grinning. At the memory of their conversation, at the fact that she was doing just what they’d said, at the fact that it gave him hope. “Feed me pizza, Red.”

Makenna pushed into a sitting position beside him and laughed. “Okay, Caden Grayson, then let’s get dressed so I can put some slices in your pie hole.”

He grabbed her around the middle and hauled her back down against him. Laughter spilled out of her, and he loved it. “My pie hole, huh?”

“Yeah,” she said. “I grew up with three brothers, remember?”

“Oh, I remember, Makenna. I remember it all,” he said, kissing the soft skin of her neck.

She sighed. “This isn’t going to lead to pizza.”

Caden laughed. “No, I guess not. Damn inconvenient stomach.”

Makenna turned in his arms, her smile so bright and open. “I know, but we need fuel.”

Oh, he liked the sound of that. “Damn straight we do.” He gave her a slow, lingering kiss, making sure to rake his spider bites over her lip.

“I’m sorry, what were you saying?” she said, her voice all breathy and sexy.

“Pizza.”

“Right, pizza it is,” she said, sitting up again and scooting out of bed. Tussled hair fell over her shoulders. His T-shirt hung loosely on her body, her legs bare beneath. God, she was so pretty she struck him dumb. “Would you like to shower?”

Caden got out of her bed and stretched, getting hard again because of the way she was staring at him. Like she was starving. He stalked around the bed, laser focused on her.

“What?” she asked, grinning and backing up.

In one smooth motion, he bent and lifted her into a fireman’s carry.

She gasped and burst into laughter. “Why are you carrying me?”

He made for the bathroom. “I didn’t want you to get away.”

“I wasn’t trying to get away!” She chuckled.

“One can never be too sure,” he said, placing her gently on her feet in the big walk-in shower. And even though he said it as a joke, it was the damn truth. “Yes to taking a shower.” He stepped out of his boxers and chucked them outside of the stall, then stood and let her look her fill.

Makenna’s gaze raked over him, and he felt it like a physical caress. “I think I’m overdressed,” she offered, pulling his shirt over her head and dropping her panties until she was all beautiful naked curves before him. “Much better.”

All he could do was nod.

She reached for the water knob. “How hot do you like it?” She slanted her gaze at him with a sexy little smile.

“However hot you like it, Red.”

Water rained down on them, and steam slowly filled the space. “I think…” She swallowed hard.

“I think we might be a little delayed getting to the pizza.”

Read an exclusive excerpt:
Rune studied the woman across from him. He stayed in the shadows deliberately, keeping his distance.

The grainy image distorted by ice and rock and weathering hadn’t done her justice. Even now, awareness tightened in his belly as he took in a gamine face made more piquant by the short cut of her dark hair. Like a human-sized pixie had magically poofed into his domain. He practically expected to see a trail of glitter in her wake. Large peridot-colored eyes gazed back at him, light green and shockingly vibrant against lightly tanned and freckled skin, putting him in mind of new leaves in the spring.

Hadyn… The name suited her. It meant little fire, and she had to be a firecracker to come chasing him up here alone.

Her reaction to him was anything but normal. Most humans couldn’t stare down a dragon shifter, that little built-in voice of instinct screaming at them of danger. Predator. She didn’t break eye contact at all.

This could be a trap.

Others had tried to lure him out with a dragon mate before. Using human women to appeal to his supposed sense of honor or protectiveness. He still had a scar from the first time that happened, and it took a hell of a lot to scar a dragon, given how quickly his kind healed.

Only this one came to you alone, risking her life on the mountain.

She wasn’t off to a great start. The lie about her supposed dragon shifter parents. The suspect timing, showing up here at the same time he had.

This mountain had been abandoned months ago.

He’d risked returning by himself to shut it all down and destroy any remaining evidence of his dealings. Hopefully, the important stuff that he’d taken care to hide hadn’t been discovered.

Only by coincidence was he here now, so how had she known he would be?

He’d already scented her on the mountain, but now inhaled long and slow, catching no hint of smoke or other telltale signs of supernatural creatures, still having trouble placing what she was exactly. Not a dragon shifter, as she’d said. Human.

Only humans weren’t supposed to know about dragon shifters, let alone seek them out.

His dragon gave a hum of approval. He liked her moxie. Anyone who dared scale a mountain like this one on her own in early winter, let alone come deliberately searching for a rogue dragon shifter, had to have tons of it.

That, or he was right, and she was the bait for a trap one of the many people after him had laid, hoping he’d come back like he had.

She crossed her arms. “Why don’t you believe me?”

The question was more curious than offended, with not a scrap of worry in her tone. Interesting.

“Because the Alaz team couldn’t have done that.” The biggest hole in her story had stood out like a neon sign saying, You’d be a fool to believe this bullshit.

Rune was not a fool.

Exclusive Excerpt:

With zero sound—an impressive feat—he dropped to his three free feet, then slowly lowered her to the ground. Once she was upright and clear of him, Hadyn backed away, dragging her gear with her. Then turned to catch his shift. She’d always loved watching her parents do this, finding the process fascinating. Shifters sort of shimmered in mirage-like waves as they changed from animal to human or vice versa. Everything they were in one form absorbed into the new form, clothes and all. Magical. The black dragon before her appeared to reduce in size, the massive spikes around his head and down his back sort of folding back into his body, wings becoming arms, and scales turned to bronze, burnished skin. Finally, a man stood before her, shadowed in the unlit room of the cave, darkness already finding its way in here where sunlight couldn’t reach as easily. Everything she could make out was in shades of black, like a bad guy in an old western movie, black hair, black eyes, black combat pants and a long-sleeved, collarless shirt. Arms loose at his sides. Deceptively so, she sensed. No clan mark. All dragons sported two tattoos, which appeared at birth. The one on the back of the neck was the symbol of a dragon’s family. The one on the back of the hand, between the thumb and forefinger, was the mark of the house of their king, visible proof of allegiance and belonging to their clan. To be missing his marked him as a rogue dragon. Rogues were considered dangerous and subversive by the leaders of dragon shifters. In fact, even Chaghan and Qara were wary of others. Most who hadn’t been hunted down and killed were psychopaths, according to them. Creatures to be avoided as much as the shifters still loyal to the clans. Hadyn was looking at maybe the most legendary of all rogues. Why did her parents trust him?

Exclusive Excerpt:

She’d hooked the pack with her gear into a newly set carabiner and was reaching for the heavy-duty zip when a shadow passed overhead, stilling her hand. Everything inside her quietened as well. Dragon shifter. No doubt in her mind. Instinct had her ducking as wind buffeted her, sending snow and ice to pelt her mercilessly. Good thing she’d put those goggles back on. “Watch it,” she snapped. “You’re on my mountain, little girl,” a sinfully deep voice curled through her mind. Despite the challenging words, this dragon had taken the courtesy to lower the volume so that the telepathic communication didn’t send splinters of pain through her head. The wind stopped suddenly, as though obeying his will, and the unmistakable sound of razor-sharp talons finding purchase in the rock above her screeched, followed by a few rocks tumbling down over her. “Seriously?” Hadyn raised her head, intending to glare at him, then blinked. Black dragon. So black, his onyx scales gleamed like a river of silk in the dying light of day, not reflecting the pinks and purples of the sky, more like swallowing the color into a black hole of nothingness. Wicked spikes rose to a crest at the back of his skull, but those down his back were laid flat. Wow. She’d been raised around these creatures. She shouldn’t be impressed. Hadyn had no doubt she was staring at a fighter. Dragon shifters tended to be lean and muscled, and black dragons were supposed to be the leanest of the bunch. This one was bigger than she’d anticipated. Not as long and elegant as her green dragon shifter adopted parents, not as burly as the gold dragon who’d been one of the men to take them away. No, raw power surrounded him, his scales rippling slightly with each small move to remain balanced while clutching the side of the mountain. A quiet menace stared at her from pitch-black eyes. No flames, though, his emotions in severe check. Not that he had anything to fear from her. Black dragons were supposed to be stealthy sons of bitches. The fact that he’d warned her of his presence with that flash of shadow told her all she needed to know about this one. He wouldn’t hurt her. Not unless she presented as a direct threat. Relief at finding him brought a tired smile to her lips. “Rune Abaddon, I presume?” “Who’s asking?”
